President Julius Malema never said to any newspaper that his arrest is imminent as claimed by the Mail & Guardian, Independent Newspaper group and other reckless newspapers and news agencies.
What President Julius Malema said was that he has heard the rumour that he will be arrested because one of the Boadyguards of Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa called to say that Nathi Mthethwa promised to arrest President Julius Malema immediately after the Marikana massacre where the police brutally killed mineworkers, and still roaming the streets of South Africa after committing cold blooded murder.
Nathi Mthethwa was rejected by workers at the official memorial service and had to escape the Memorial service because workers said he is responsible for the cold blooded massacre committed by the police he leads.
Newspapers should be careful on how they report about these issues because they are misleading and sensational in nature. One of the newspapers recently issued a front page apology to President Julius Malema for spreading the same arrest rumour. President Julius Malema has said in more than once occassion that he is ready to fully account to law enforcement agencies if there is indeed a case to answer, and is neither deterred nor worried by threats by Nathi Mthethwa to effect any form of arrest. We are aware of attempts and foolish practices of those who are loosing political support on the ground and choose to use law enforcement agencies to suppress dissent. Nathi Mthethwa and his Masters should know that they will never suppress the voice that calls for their removal from the ANC leadership and will never suppress the millions of voices that are decrying South African government's directionlessness, murderous conduct, and confusion since Jacob Zuma was elected President.
Media people should not play into the hands of tribalist factions that seek to lead the ANC by force, and are doing everything in their power to suppress and eliminate dissent in the movement. Conferences of the ANC come and go, and the less than desirable credibility of some of the media channels should be preserved.
